Golf Course
2013-2014
Every afternoon at 5 p.m., our team gathered for the daily vanpool, taking advantage of the minimal traffic during that time. The journey from our homes to the course typically took forty minutes on average. Arriving, we’d use a back entrance equipped with a key lock that granted us seamless access. Our routine began with tackling all the bathrooms scattered across the field, giving each a thorough & detailed clean. The gift shop & offices were left for last, ensuring they received the same meticulous attention.
The crew worked efficiently to maintain the entire facility by providing vacuum cleaners for the carpeted areas, mops for the glossy tiles, & a swift rotation of trash bins with fresh liners. A principle we held dear was leaving every station cleaner than it was when we first arrived.
Transit Station
2016-2018
One evening, the assignment led us to a public parking garage after hours, a five-level structure with a staircase & security office stationed at the front entrance. The task fell solely on my shoulders, & as I commenced the job, I realized it would take an hour & a half to complete. The headquarters was a mere twenty minutes away, offering a convenient proximity for me.
The responsibilities at this particular site included:
- Addressing liquid spills.
- Picking up litter scattered around the nearby bus stop.
- The routine task of regularly changing out full bins.
Once familiar with the job, I discovered ways to make the time pass more swiftly. Whether listening to music or being on a phone call, these activities helped me stay focused & efficient during the cleaning process.
City Hall
2019-Present
Nestled in the city’s heart, it was the most prominent location our cleaning group had ever tackled. Over the years, I have held two different positions with our team, a journey that began a couple of years ago & continues to the present day.
As most of the workforce cleared out, signaling the end of their day, our team swung into action. We gathered in the supply closet, each member knowing their nightly role. The first among us would fire up the vacuum, weaving through the hallways & addressing the entrance area. Simultaneously, the second member embarked on a quest through cubicles, ensuring no debris was left behind, leaving every space spotless.
The last crew member gathered ten-gallon container bags from all floors & embarked on a journey to the basement garage for disposal. This final leg of the routine was crucial, ensuring that every bit of waste was responsibly discarded. What once bustled with the energy of the nine-to-fivers now echoed with the hum of our vacuum, the occasional rustle of trash bags, & the collective precision of our team.
Dealership
2020-Present
Spread across three distinct buildings, each housing its unique responsibilities. First was the Sales building, which involved wiping down the sales boards. We could see the day’s transactions & achievements fading away, leaving a clean slate for the next morning. Next in line was the Service building; armed with our standard practice (as mentioned in previous job sites), we focused on the women’s & men’s stalls.
The third & final building was the Detailing Center. Entrusted with sweeping the entire shop, an essential task to ensure no foreign objects were left behind by the technicians, ensuring a safeguard against potential hazards. It was a commitment to excellence & a shared understanding of creating a pristine environment for everyone who stepped into the facilities.
